IRS Audit 2024 : Worker Classification 101

This webinar will examine the elements that the IRS takes into account when classifying a worker as either an employee or a contractor. We will talk about the more conventional "20-factor" test as well as the more current IRS "3-factor" requirement. We will also discuss your options for relief in the event that an audit by the IRS results in the IRS reclassifying contractors as employees.

This webinar primarily focuses on the IRS, but we also discuss other agencies, both state and federal, that may undertake an audit into this issue.

Why should one attend this:

Following their involvement in this webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Recognize the documents that contractors must have.

  • Handle ambiguous circumstances, as they can call for more paperwork and correspondence with the IRS and other parties.

Areas covered in the session:

  • The justification for comprehending the differences between workers and contractors
  • You have access to multiple auditing methods from the IRS, DOL, and state governments. That being said, the IRS is the main focus of this webinar.
